About the Presenter:
Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning writer. When not writing, she enjoys rooting for her beloved hockey team – the Buffalo Sabres, taking her daughter on grand adventures, and binge watching TV shows. Cassandra’s books have won numerous “Best Book Of” awards and her novella Power Shift (former title Unexpected Top) was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT’s Reviewers’ Choice Awards.
She thinks the best part of being a writer is penning stories in her made-up worlds while most others struggle with commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers.

The 2022 Orange County Romance Writer’s Book Buyer’s Best (BBB) Contest is now open for published writers of traditional or indie romances, in novel-length or novella-length, and in print or e-novel format. Entries must have been published during 2021.
Non-refundable entry fee: $25 for OCRW members; $35 for entrants who are not OCRW members. We have nine categories. The contest is open now and closes on March 31, 2022. We invite you to submit to our contest (and tell your published writer friends about it, too).
Even if you’re not entering one of your books into the contest, you’re invited to be one of our judges. It’s a fun experience to be introduced to the writing of published authors you don’t know. Like so many people, I told myself ‘when Covid ends I’ll finish (fill in your WIP)’. As Covid dragged on, I became sluggish and uninspired when it came to writing, so I decided to give my most popular series, The Josie Bates Thrillers, a cover make-over.
I was going to have my wonderful graphic designer tackle the project, but found myself indecisive regarding the direction I wanted take. Without constructive input, her job would be impossible, so I decided to do a few rough drafts to clarify my thinking. Instead, I became obsessed with the process of redefining my work. This is what I learned when I went all in on DIY cover design.
